In a significant move to address the ongoing teacher shortage, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has welcomed over 300 new educators into its ranks ahead of the 2025-2026 academic year.
The official welcome occurred during a five-day orientation event at Miami Springs Senior High School. Superintendent José L. Dotres personally greeted the incoming teachers with a message of encouragement, unity, and purpose.
“The arrival of these teachers brings new energy, talent, and hope to our schools,” said Dotres during the opening ceremony.
Across the country, school districts have struggled to fill vacancies, and Miami-Dade has been no exception. However, this new group of teachers represents a strong response and a much-needed injection of fresh talent into one of the largest school districts in the United States.
